GZ Motorsports has developed a direct
bolt on Sportsman Vacuum Pump kit for the Mitsubishi 4G63T engine, which is used in Mitsubishi,
Galant, Eclipse, Eagle Talon, Plymouth Laser and other cars.
The space in the engine compartment is
limited at best and requires the removal of the AC compressor and related tensioner and support
bracket. The VP100 Sportsman Vacuum Pump bracket bolts directly to the block using the AC support bracket/tensioner
threaded holes. The Sportsman vacuum pump attaches to the bracket along with a belt tension adjuster
which is part of the bracket system. The Stock Crank Balancer/ two groove serpentine pulley is
replaced with the Billet 25% reduction serpentine/ V-belt pulley supplied with the kit (Note that
this replacement must only be used with internally balanced race engines as it is not a
balancer).
The kit comes with a double baffled
breather tank with a clamp on K&N style filter, brass vacuum control valve, #10 AN Push Lite
fittings including a bolt in bung for the valve cover with #10 Black Braided Push Lite hose or AN
fittings with Stainless braided hose, V-Belt and all necessary bolts, spacers. The vacuum pump kit
was developed to reduce windage and to allow in increase in horsepower by reducing oil contamination
of the combustion chambers and to improve ring seal in highly modified 4G63T race engines.
 Please note that we are now coating the VP100 vacuum pumps with a Black Xylan® Coating which isn't shown in the above kit photo. Xylan® Coatings provide lubrication and controlled friction, wear resistance, heat resistance, nonstick and release properties and, at the same time, can also protect from corrosion.
